Description
A bundled of traditional Hmong Scarfs / Hats hang hazardously in front of the storefront booth at the Hmong Sports Summer Festival. In Hmong, these are called 'hau phuam' which translated into English, means 'scarf' which wraps around the head. These are semi-traditional because they are actually pre-glued and sewn together, to allow girls to easily slip onto their heads. In the old days, a mother would have had to help her daughter wrap the long piece of scarf around the head in a turben-like style.
